Diabetes Ireland previously organised hundreds of events across Ireland over the years and due to Covid19, we moved all our educational programmes and events online so you can access them from the comfort of your own home.Due to huge demand and positive engagement, going forward we will continue to provide virtual education webinars on all aspects of living well with diabetes, our Type 2 CODE structured education programme and emotional wellbeing workshops together with in-person events via our Sweetpea Kidz Club and other activities providing opportunities for you to meet other people living with diabetes and their families. We aim to ensure that diabetes medications and services remain free for everyone. We seek improvements in services, so everyone gets a high quality of care. We fight against discrimination in the workplace and raise awareness in schools. We achieve this by advocating and influencing public policy for improvements in public diabetes services nationwide and quicker access to new medications and technology that will help people with diabetes to improve the daily management of their condition. Every person with diabetes should attend a podiatrist at least once a year. Members receive a discount on podiatry appointments and products in our Care Centres in Dublin and Cork.
