Introducing T1 DREAMS Programme – New Type 1 Programme

Diabetes Resilience, Emotional and Mental Health Support

T1 DREAMS is a new free online initiative created for adults with Type 1 diabetes who were diagnosed within the last three years.

It offers a safe and welcoming space to explore the emotional impact of a new diagnosis while connecting with others who share similar experiences.

Through practical tools and peer support, the programme helps participants focus on life beyond insulin and blood glucose levels. By taking part, you can build confidence, strengthen coping skills, and gain the support you need to take charge of your health and well-being.

Why join?

  • Connect with others who genuinely understand your experience.
  • Benefit from expert guidance from a Health Psychologist and Diabetes Nurse Specialist.
  • Learn practical strategies to manage stress and day-to-day challenges.
  • Build resilience and confidence to take charge of your diabetes.

Who will be facilitating the programme?

Meet Louise

Hello, my name is Louise Enright, I am a Health Psychologist and work in Diabetes Ireland.

I have worked in healthcare for many years and more recently in health education, always with a focus on supporting people in ways that feel respectful and meaningful. I aim to create a space where people feel comfortable, listened to, and supported.

If you have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes within the last 3 years, you may feel a sense of isolation and an additional emotional burden associated with the diagnosis. Recognising the mental load of Type 1 diabetes is essential for ensuring a healthy, balanced life and improved diabetes management in the long term.

We have designed and developed a programme, which provides a unique blend of peer support and practical psychoeducation, designed to build emotional resilience and confidence while living with Type 1 diabetes.

Come join us on the programme, we look forward to seeing you soon.

Louise
