Cork: Parents Support Group

FreeAn information evening is being held by The Cork Parents Support Group of Diabetes Ireland in the Ambassador Hotel, Military Hill, St Luke’s, Cork City on Thursday 5th March at 7.30pm.
The focus of the evening is the family and looking at coping mechanisms and food and diet tips. Presenting on the night will be, Ms. Sinead Boyce H.S.E. Msc. CNS Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. Ms Boyce will be discussing “Head Stuff, Coping with Diabetes in my Family”. Ms Shirley Beattie Snr. Paediatric Diabetes Dietician, CUH will also be speaking and offering parents tips on food choices, fussy eaters, exercise and carb counting.
Mr Chrys Ngwa, Chairperson of the group said “We are very excited about this meeting and we as a support group are confident that each parent will go away with renewed energy and positivity around dealing with their own child’s coping mechanisms with their diabetes”.
This meeting is an opportunity to meet other families living with diabetes in a relaxed and supportive environment. The evening is free and open to all parents and guardians of children living with Type 1 Diabetes.
