CARE (Community and Resilience for Every Type 1 Diabetes Parent)

Do you live with or care for a child with Type 1 diabetes and find yourself overwhelmed by the emotional impact of the diagnosis and daily management?

Join CARE (Community and Resilience for Every Type 1 Diabetes Parent), our 2 session online peer support programme is designed specifically for parents and guardians of children living with Type 1 diabetes.

Living with Type 1 diabetes as a family goes far beyond blood glucose management, it involves constant decision-making, emotional adjustment, and navigating uncertainty. If you’ve ever felt anxious, isolated, or unsure how to cope, CARE is designed to support you.

The programme has been developed by diabetes healthcare professionals, clinical and health psychologists, and parents with lived experience, ensuring it is both clinically grounded and authentically relevant. Using a Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) approach, parents have shaped every aspect of its design and delivery.

CARE combines peer support with practical psychoeducation, helping parents build confidence, resilience, and emotional coping strategies.
