Purpose of Study:

Atlantia Food Clinical Trials is carrying out a study evaluating the effects of the long-term use of allulose in adults with Type II Diabetes. Allulose is a low-calorie alternative to table sugar (sucrose).

Who can take part?

Adults aged 18-70 in the Cork area

BMI 18.5-40.0

Diagnosed with Type II Diabetes & being treated

 

What will the participants be asked to do?

In short, participants will attend 5 visits over a 8 month period at the study site in Cork.

They will be required to consume allulose once every morning with their breakfast. The product comes in sachet form that can be missed with water.

We will also complete a health check with each participant at their visits.

In addition to clinic visits, participants will be required to attend 2 MRIs at Cork University Hospital (CUH).

If you attend all 5 study visits described above, you will receive a financial compensation of €650 to cover your time and any expenses incurred.
