Novo Nordisk Limited, Ireland would like to inform you of an expected supply shortage with Victoza® solution for injection in pre-filled pen, which is used to reduce high blood glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
A shortage of both Victoza® 2 and 3-pen packs is expected in Ireland in early December 2023. A return to stock is expected by June 2024.
The supply shortage is not related to a quality defect of the products or a safety issue.
If you are currently prescribed Victoza ®
- you should contact your Healthcare Professional.
- Do not stop taking Victoza® or change your Victoza® treatment unless you have agreed it with your Healthcare Professional as this may result in high blood glucose levels (shown in tests) and high levels of ketones.
- All Healthcare Professionals have been informed of this shortage.
Diabetes Ireland will continue to provide updates on this supply situation as new information becomes available.
