Family Fun Day in Sligo Woodland Farm

On Saturday, 6th September, Diabetes Ireland hosted a Family Fun Day at Sligo Woodland Farm, welcoming children and families from across the northwest to enjoy an afternoon of activities, fresh air, and community connection.

The event gave children living with diabetes, along with their siblings, the chance to meet others in a relaxed, fun environment. Families explored the woodland trails, took part in outdoor games, and enjoyed hands-on farm experiences. There was no shortage of laughter as kids joined in treasure hunts, arts and crafts, mining and fire starting ending with cooking smours telling stories by the fire.

For parents, the day also offered a valuable opportunity to share experiences, build connections, and strengthen support networks within the diabetes community.

Thank you to Trisha and the team of Sligo Woodland Farm, who added to the occasion, giving families a safe and natural space to relax and have fun together.

Diabetes Ireland would like to thank all the families who attended. The event highlighted the importance of community, support, and shared experiences for children and families living with diabetes.
