Eoghan Braves the Waves and Raises Awareness Regarding Type 1

Irish Kitesurfer, Waterford native Eoghan Quinn attempted to open a new road of travel between France and Ireland over the weekend.

Even when the winds dropped off in Cornwall, nature’s power and bad seas were not enough to diminish Eoghan’s determination and drive.

Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes aged four, “you can allow illness to define you negatively or you can choose to let it empower you. I’ve definitely chosen to be empowered.”

Eoghan’s main aim was to raise vital funds for Diabetes Ireland and to show that people living with diabetes are not defined by the condition.

Diabetes Ireland would like to thank Eoghan for taking on this epic challenge and raising awareness of  living with type 1 diabetes.

Eoghan has completed and taken part in various challenges over the years and no doubt this won’t be his last.

Our Health Awareness event will take place on the 10th of November in the Limerick Strand Hotel and Eoghan will be speaking about his adventures.
