Over the weekend of 18/19 July, a group of over 30 trekkers were to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland at night to raise funds for Diabetes Ireland. Due to COVID-19, this trek has been postponed to 2021. However a number of the trekkers are still keen to mark the trek and instead are doing a 15KM walk, which is the distance equal to climbing Ben Nevis, in aid of Diabetes Ireland.
You can join our Ben Nevis trekkers by signing up to do the 15KM walk or run over the weekend of 18th/19th July. The funds you raise will go towards supporting people with diabetes who need help today, particularly during these unprecedented times.
COVID-19 Impact on Diabetes Ireland
Diabetes Ireland is working hard to restart its services but have suffered a significant loss of funds through having many of its fundraising opportunities cancelled or postponed. We are now working to make up these losses so we can effectively deliver our full range of services once again.
To date, we have partly reopened our Care Centre services and in July plan to fully begin services once again. We are also restarting our education programmes by offering a virtual/one to one telephone support programme as well as maintaining our helpline and online platforms. We are doing everything we can to protect the future of Diabetes Ireland. We need your invaluable support more than ever – will you help us today?
