Diabetes Ireland 10KM June Weekend Challenge

This coming June bank holiday weekend, Diabetes Ireland needs your support. We are asking you to complete a 10KM walk, run or cycle. Whether you do it at once, spread it over the weekend or split it with family and friends, the impact is the same. The funds you raise will go towards supporting people with diabetes who need help today, particularly during these unprecedented times.

COVID-19 Impact on People with Diabetes

Your health is the most important thing and as you know, people with diabetes are in the high-risk category for COVID-19. Having diabetes causes the body to raise glucose levels during times of illness or stress which makes it more difficult to fight infection, hence people with diabetes have an increased risk of moderate or severe illness. For more information, visit our COVID-19 hub.

COVID-19 Impact on Diabetes Ireland

While our goal is to ensure our services continue and expand, with the coronavirus pandemic, our fundraising has been decimated and currently we do not know the impact this will have on our services as we look to recover from its impact.
