SUMMARY:Free Type 1 Diabetes Technology & Research Discovery Letterkenny Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Diabetes technologies\, such as Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs)\, insulin pumps\, and hybrid closed-loop systems\, are transforming the lives of people with Type 1 diabetes. Just a few years ago\, access to CGMs was limited\, and awareness of insulin pump therapy was low. Today\, there is unprecedented access to CGMs\, and hybrid closed-loop ‘artificial pancreas’ systems are becoming a reality. \n  \nDespite this progress\, opportunities to learn directly from healthcare professionals about these technologies are rare. That’s why Diabetes Technology Network Ireland (DTN IRL)\, in collaboration with Diabetes Ireland\, is hosting a technology information meeting in Letterkenny. This event is designed for people living with Type 1 diabetes and parents/carers of children with Type 1 diabetes living in Donegal. \n  \nAt this meeting\, you will: \n·   Learn about the benefits of diabetes technology. \n·   Explore how these tools can help you manage your diabetes more effectively. \n·   Discover the range of technologies currently available in Ireland. \n·   Hear about the latest research developments in managing Type 1 diabetes. \n·   Get hands-on experience with the technology and speak directly with company representatives. \n  \nOur goal is to empower attendees to make informed decisions about diabetes technology in collaboration with their diabetes care team\, choosing options that best meet clinical needs and lifestyle preferences. \n  \nUpcoming Meeting Details: \nLocation: Mount Errigal Hotel\, Letterkenny\, Co. Donegal \nDate: Thursday\, 25th September \nTime: 6:15 PM \nSpeakers: Dr Tomás Griffin\, Consultant Physician\, University Hospital Galway / Honorary Senior Lecturer\, University of Galway/ TBC / Dr Kate Gajewska\, Advocacy and Research Manager\, Diabetes Ireland \n  \nAdmission: Free to all attendees. \n  \nHow to Register: View the full agenda and register for the meeting here. \n  \nExhibitors/Supporters: Diabetes Ireland\, Abbott\, Dexcom\, Medtronic\, Air Liquide\, Novo Nordisk\, The Ireland Funds. \n  \nDon’t miss this opportunity to learn\, connect\, and take charge of your diabetes management with the latest technology. We look forward to seeing you there!
