DESCRIPTION:Diabetes Technology Network (DTN) Ireland (IRL)\, in collaboration with Diabetes Ireland and Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF)\, invites all individuals with Type 1 Diabetes to an exciting event:\nType 1 Diabetes Technology & Research Discovery Meeting\n📍 Venue: Croí House\, Galway\n🗓️ Date: Tuesday\, 25th February 2025\n⏰ Time: 6:15 PM \nSpeakers:\n\nDr Tomás Griffin: Consultant Physician\, University Hospital Galway / Honorary Senior Lecturer\, University of Galway\nProf. Derek O’Keeffe: Consultant Physician\, University Hospital Galway / Professor of Medical Device Technology\, University of Galway\nDr. Kate Gajewska\, Advocacy and Research Manager\, Diabetes Ireland will chair the session.\n\nDiabetes technologies like Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM)\, insulin pumps\, and hybrid closed-loop systems are transforming the lives of people with Type 1 diabetes. Just a few years ago\, access to CGMs was limited\, and awareness of insulin pump therapy was low. Today\, there is unprecedented access to CGMs and hybrid closed-loop ‘artificial pancreas’ systems are becoming a reality. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDespite this progress\, opportunities to learn directly from healthcare professionals about these technologies are rare. That’s why Diabetes Technology Network Ireland (DTN IRL)\, in collaboration with Diabetes Ireland\, is hosting a technology information meeting in Galway.
