DESCRIPTION:Are you a parent of a child with Type 1 diabetes and living in areas Galway\, Mayo\, or Roscommon?\n  \nDiabetes Ireland\, is hosting virtual Parents Support Workshops in March 2022 for parents of children with Type 1 Diabetes facilitated by Psychologist Dr Kate Gajewska\, along with the opportunity for peer support from other parents. \n  \nThere are two workshops available:\n\nWorkshop 1 (for parents of a child under 13 years) Friday 4th of March from 10.30am- 12 noon.\n\n  \n\nWorkshop 2 (for parents of teenagers) Friday 11th of March from 10.30am-12 noon.\n\n  \nKate will discuss topics such as: \n\npsychological challenges associated with raising a child with diabetes related to the developmental stages.\ndiabetes distress.\nemotions associated with diagnosis and living with diabetes through the lifespan.\n\n  \nThis workshop is limited to just 15 parents or guardians to allow for interaction within the group. \n  \nTo register\, \nPhone Caoimhe 0n 071 914 6001 (Tuesday – Thursday) \nEmail on  wro@diabetes.ie \n  \nPlease note: This is for areas Galway\, Mayo & Roscommon only. DESCRIPTION:CODE (Online)  aims to deliver general information about diabetes self-management in a supported online setting. \nThe groups are facilitated by Diabetes Ireland Health Professionals\,  a Nurse or Dietitian\, and kept to a maximum of 12 participants in a relaxed environment sharing and hearing people’s own experiences. \nEach CODE (Online) programme consists of 4 sessions\, The first 3 sessions are over 3 consecutive weeks\, and the final session takes place 6 months later.
