SUMMARY:CARNDONAGH - DIABETES EDUCATION COURSE
DESCRIPTION:Structured education course for Prediabetes & Type 2 \nCODE is Diabetes Ireland’s  group education programme for people with Type 2 Diabetes or diagnosed Pre-diabetes.  CODE aims to deliver general information about diabetes self-management in a local community group setting. CODE allows people with diabetes to talk in a supportive atmosphere about their own diabetes. Time is allocated during the programme for problem solving\, feedback on diabetes self management behaviours and goal setting. \nThe programme is facilitated by Frances Murphy\, Diabetes Nurse  and consists of 4 sessions of 2 hour duration.  The first 3 sessions take place over 3 consecutive weeks in Chamber Room at Carndonagh Public Service Centre \n  \nTHIS COURSE IS NOW FULL \n3rd week:           Monday October 2nd  at 2.00 pm \nAt 4 months:     TBC \nCODE is free of charge. \nTopics covered in CODE include diabetes explained\, risk factors\, signs and symptoms\, healthy eating\, physical activity\, personal goal setting\, complications and the necessity of regular follow up and the importance of optimal diabetes control. The six month session looks at the review of achievements and personal goal setting. DESCRIPTION:Would you like to learn more about your diabetes and meet other people with diabetes in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere?An education course\, developed by the Diabetes Ireland\, is being run at our Care Centre in Northwood Santry. \nThe aim of the course is to help you manage your diabetes and it will cover topics such as diabetes knowledge and management\, nutrition and physical activity and self-monitoring of diabetes control. \nIf you are interested in attending please return the form below in the envelope provided.    The course will be run by: Sinead Powell\, Dietitian\, Diabetes Ireland \nEach session will be 2 hours long and includes tea/ coffee break. There is no cost involved in attending this course.
