DESCRIPTION:Diabetes Themed Table Quiz – Test Your Diabetes Knowledge! \n  \nThe Clare Diabetes Support group is organising a Diabetes Themed Table Quiz to mark World Diabetes Day on Tuesday\, November 20th in The Temple Gate Hotel\, Ennis\, Co. Clare at 8pm. This event is also a fundraiser for Diabetes Ireland who depend on public fundraising for approx 65% of their funding (including supporting our meetings and the Clare branch). CODE allows people with diabetes to talk in a supportive atmosphere about their own diabetes. Time is allocated during the programme for problem solving\, feedback on diabetes self-management behaviours and goal setting. \n  \nThe programme is facilitated by Diabetes Ireland\, Regional Development Officer Jenny Dunbar and consists of 4 sessions of 2 hours duration.  The first 3 sessions take place over 3 consecutive weeks. \n  \n  \nFinal Review Meeting \nThis review session takes place six months after the start date. \nCODE is free of charge. \nTopics covered in CODE include diabetes explained\, risk factors\, signs and symptoms\, healthy eating\, physical activity\, personal goal setting\, complications and the necessity of regular follow up and the importance of optimal diabetes control. The six month session looks at the review of achievements and personal goal setting.
