DESCRIPTION:  \nOur aim is to encourage teens to engage in adventure activities and learn good management of their diabetes while doing so. They will meet other teenagers with diabetes and most importantly they will have FUN. \n\nThe teen activity day will take place on Friday 12th July 2019.\n\n\nThe day is open to all children with diabetes aged 10-16 years.\n\n\nEvents will be held in 4 centres nationwide and you choose which centre you would like to attend.\n\n  \n\nWe plan to run buses from a number of localities to each of the centres where we have adequate participants.\n\n  \n\nA hot lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the day.\n\n\nAll centres will be fully supervised by trained instructors\, volunteer leaders and a healthcare professional.\n\n  \n\n€25 for the day for members and €50.00 for non-members. \n\n  \n\nIf you wish to register for this event\,please contact info@diabetes.ie for a registration form.\n\n

Time is allocated during the programme for problem solving\, feedback on diabetes self management behaviours and goal setting. \nThe programme is facilitated by Ms. Frances Murphy\, Diabetes Nurse for Diabetes Ireland  and consists of 4 sessions of 2 hour duration.  The first 3 sessions take place over 3 consecutive weeks at the Public Services Centre\, Neil T Blaney Road\, Letterkenny\, Co Donegal. \nThis course is now FULL \nWeek 2: Monday 9th September at  6.30pm to 8.30pm \nWeek 3: Monday 16th September  at 6.30pm to 8.30pm \nWeek 4: To be confirmed \nCODE is free of charge. \nTopics covered in CODE include diabetes explained\, risk factors\, signs and symptoms\, healthy eating\, physical activity\, personal goal setting\, complications and the necessity of regular follow up and the importance of optimal diabetes control. The six month session looks at the review of achievements and personal goal setting.
