We aim to provide “Inspiration\, Motivation and Information” to people living with type 1 diabetes. Our speakers are internationally renowned in the diabetes community\, some of whom are living with type 1\, and speakers who are nationally recognised as diabetes healthcare professionals. \nWho Should Attend Thriveabetes? \n\nAdults with Type 1 or Type 1.5 diabetes (also known as LADA; Latent autoimmune diabetes of adults).\nPartners\, Spouses and Significant Others of Adults with type 1/1.5 Diabetes.\nParents/Guardians/Carers of children/young people with type 1 diabetes.\nYoung adults\, teens\, school-age children\, and younger children with type 1 diabetes and their siblings.\nHealth care professionals who work with type 1 diabetes\n\nThe Conference Venue and Hotel Reservations\nThe Killashee House Hotel is just 30kms from Dublin City Centre\, 2kms outside Naas Town\, & only 35mins from Dublin Airport. DESCRIPTION:The Sligo/Leitrim parent support group have finalised their Summer Party for Children and Teens with diabetes and their brothers and sisters \n Activities on the day include:  \n\nStand Up Paddling for the Over 12’s\nRiver Shannon Dragon Boat Experience for the Under 12’s. DESCRIPTION:This event is a day long event without parents. \nYou can choose from 4 centres around the country.  Choose the centre closest to you. \n1. Carlingford Adventure Centre\, Co.Louth \n2.Dunmore East Adventure Centre\, Waterford \n3. East Cork Adventure Centre\, Cork \n4. North West Adventure Centre\, Co. Sligo \n \nBuses will be provided depending on demand and we will confirm arrangements closer to the date. \nEach centre will have a range of activities including land and water-based activities such as Archery\, Rope climbing\, Kayaking\, and Team Building events. \nA hot lunch and snacks will be provided for the teens on the day .
