DESCRIPTION:Structured education course for Prediabetes & Type 2\nCODE is Diabetes Ireland’s  group education programme for people with Type 2 Diabetes or diagnosed Pre-diabetes.  CODE aims to deliver general information about diabetes self-management in a local community group setting. CODE allows people with diabetes to talk in a supportive atmosphere about their own diabetes. Time is allocated during the programme for problem solving\, feedback on diabetes self management behaviours and goal setting. \nThe programme is facilitated by Ms.Pauline Dunne\, Senior Dietitian for Diabetes Ireland and consists of 4 sessions of 2 hour duration.  The first 3 sessions take place over 3 consecutive weeks in St Mary’s Health Centre\, Parnell Street\, Thurles\, Co Tipperary \n  \nWeek 1:           Wednesday May 30th from 10.30 to 1 pm \nWeek 2:           Wednesday June 6th from 10.30 am from 12.30 pm \nWeek 3:          Wednesday June 13th from 10.30 am from 12.30 pm \nWeek 4 :     Wednesday December 5th from 10.30 to 12.30 pm \nCODE is free of charge. \nTopics covered in CODE include diabetes explained\, risk factors\, signs and symptoms\, healthy eating\, physical activity\, personal goal setting\, complications and the necessity of regular follow up and the importance of optimal diabetes control. The six month session looks at the review of achievements and personal goal setting. SUMMARY:DUBLIN- Type 2 Education Course  (CODE)
DESCRIPTION:An education course\, developed by the Diabetes Ireland\, is being run at our Care Centre in Northwood \,Santry. \nThe aim of the course is to help you manage your diabetes and it will cover topics such as diabetes knowledge and management\, nutrition and physical activity and self-monitoring of diabetes control. \nThe course will be run by: Sinead Powell\, Dietitian\, Diabetes Ireland \n  \nEach session will be 2 hours long and includes tea/ coffee break. There is no cost involved in attending this course. \n The course will be held at our office at 19 Northwood House\, Northwood Business Campus\, Santry\, Dublin 9 \n  \nThis event is now fully booked. \n  \n6 months:         Wednesday 11th July at                     10.30am to 12.30pm \n  \nAll four sessions require attendance\, to get maximum benefit from the course. \nIf you would like to attend this course please  please contact Sheila Bourke  in Diabetes Ireland on 01 8428118. \n  \nParking is available in a car park in Homebase which is a 5 minute walk from Northwood House. \n  \n

SUMMARY:National Diabetes Junior Cup 2018
DESCRIPTION:After the success of our 2016 National Diabetes Cup we are delighted to announce it is coming back for 2018. \nThe 5-a-side soccer tournament will take place on Saturday 25th August and we want you to be part of it. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet and play soccer with other children who are also living with type 1 diabetes. \nThe format of the day will see a 5-a-side tournament taking place for children with diabetes between 4 and 15 years of age. Teams will be comprised of both boys and girls.
