DESCRIPTION:CODE is Diabetes Ireland’s  group education programme for people with Type 2 Diabetes or diagnosed prediabetes.  CODE aims to deliver general information about diabetes self-management in a local community group setting. Time is allocated during the programme for problem solving\, feedback on diabetes self management behaviours and goal setting.  \nThe programme is facilitated by Clair Naughton\, Diabetes Nurse Specialist and consists of 4 sessions of 2 hour duration  The first 3 sessions take place over 3 consecutive weeks \nWeek 1: February Wednesday 1st  times tbc\nWeek 2: March 1st Wednesday 1st  times tbc\nWeek 3: March Wednesday 8th times tbc  \nReview Session: Seotember 26th  \nThis review session takes place six months after the start date.  \nCODE is free of charge  \nTopics covered in CODE include diabetes explained\, risk factors\, signs and symptoms\, healthy eating\, physical activity\, personal goal setting\, complications and the necessity of regular follow up and the importance of optimal diabetes control.
