DESCRIPTION:The Diabetes Ireland AGM & Annual World Diabetes Day Meeting will take place in the Regency Hotel\, Swords Road\, Drumcondra\, Dublin 9 on Sunday the 15th November. \nThe AGM will commence at 12.15pm. The Diabetes Care & Management; The Future Diabetes Patient Education Meetings will commence at 2pm. Please see agenda below.  \nType 1 Workshop Stream (2pm)This workshop will update you on the HSE Model of Care for Type 1 diabetes from paediatric through transition to adult services and the potential of this new strategy to standardise and improve Type 1 diabetes services going forward. It will also focus on current and future medications and technologies to more effectively manage Type 1 diabetes and discuss the benefits of mindfulness techniques to help alleviate stress and anxiety that could impact on your daily management and your risk of developing complications in the future.  \nType 2 Workshop Stream (2pm)This workshop will outline the new HSE Model of Care for people with Type 2 diabetes and how it will impact on you. It will also focus on the commonalities and linkages between blood glucose\, blood pressure and cholesterol\, the impact of managing them effectively through medication\, diet and exercise.
