DESCRIPTION:Structured education course for Prediabetes & Type 2 \nCODE is Diabetes Ireland’s  group education programme for people with Type 2 Diabetes or diagnosed Pre-diabetes.  CODE aims to deliver general information about diabetes self-management in a local community group setting. CODE allows people with diabetes to talk in a supportive atmosphere about their own diabetes. Time is allocated during the programme for problem solving\, feedback on diabetes self management behaviours and goal setting. \nThe programme is facilitated by Frances Murphy\, Diabetes Nurse  and consists of 4 sessions of 2 hour duration.  The first 3 sessions take place over 3 consecutive weeks in Chamber Room at Carndonagh Public Service Centre \n  \nTHIS COURSE IS NOW FULL \n3rd week:           Monday October 2nd  at 2.00 pm \nAt 4 months:     TBC \nCODE is free of charge. \nTopics covered in CODE include diabetes explained\, risk factors\, signs and symptoms\, healthy eating\, physical activity\, personal goal setting\, complications and the necessity of regular follow up and the importance of optimal diabetes control.
