DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nThe next meet up of the Clare Type 2 Diabetes Group will take place on Tuesday 24th March at 8pm in The Temple Gate Hotel\, Ennis.  Guest speakers are: Clare DESMOND co-ordinator\, Yvonne Kozarov and Mary Feeley\, Clinical Nurse Specialist Diabetes who will provide a general type 2 diabetes care and nutrition talk. \n  \nThe DESMOND course is a HSE dietitian-led course to support people living with type 2 diabetes\, which covers: \nThe course runs over four sessions each lasting two and a half hours\n– Session 1: Learn about what diabetes is and how you can manage it\n– Session 2: How to eat healthily and manage your weight\n– Session 3: Learn more about carbohydrates and how to read food labels\n– Session 4: Planning for the future and living well with diabetes \n  \nThe Clare Type 2 Diabetes meetings are free to attend\, open to anyone who wants to learn more about Type 2 Diabetes and an excellent opportunity to meet others. DESCRIPTION:An education course\, developed by Diabetes Ireland\, is being run by Diabetes Ireland in New Ross Co Wexford\nThe aim of the course is to help you manage your Type 2 or pre- diabetes\, The meeting is in a small group where ideas and tips on managing diabetes are discussed within the group. it will cover topics such as diabetes management and treatments\, healthy eating with diabetes -and what is good to know\, physical activity and ideas for motivation and changing behaviours. \nThere is NO COST to attend\nThe course will be run by\, Jenny Dunbar \, Diabetes Nurse with Diabetes Ireland. \nThe first session will be 2 ½ hours long and the remaining sessions 2 hours long including a tea/coffee break.\nThe course will be held at Northgate Medical Centre\nWeek 1 Tuesday 24th March 2020 from 10.45- 1pm\nWeek 2 Tuesday 31st March 2020 from 10.45- 12.45pm\nWeek 3: Tuesday 7th April 2020 from 10:45am – 12:45pm\nAt 6 months: Tuesday 22nd Sept 2020 from 10:45am – 12:45pm \n  \nYou are asked to attend all four sessions to get maximum benefit from the course. \nFor more information or to book to attend call Charlotte or Marion at 021 4274229 or emailcorkcarecentre@diabetes.ie
