DESCRIPTION:Would you like to learn more about diabetes and meet other people with diabetes in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere? An education course\, developed by Diabetes Ireland\, and supported by the HSE\, is being run\, in St Vincent De Paul Hall\, Lismore \n  \nThe aim of the course is to help people with their understanding of Type 2 or Pre diabetes. Topics covered include the management of diabetes and current treatments. Guidance for blood glucose management\, healthy eating tips and ideas\, including carbohydrate advice\, the benefits of physical activity\, and motivational support for helping you to manage your diabetes. \n  \nThe course will be run by: Ms. Jenny Dunbar\, Diabetes Nurse\, Diabetes Ireland. Each session will be 2 hours long and includes a tea/ coffee break. It gives you an opportunity to meet others with diabetes\, where you will learn from each other\, ask questions\, share tips\, experiences and ideas on diabetes. There is no cost involved in attending this course. Group numbers are limited to 13 so early booking is essential. \nThe course will be held in Lismore Health Centre \n Start date: Thursday February 6th 2020 at 10.45am – 1pm \n2nd week: Thursday February 13th 2020 at 10.45am – 12.45pm \n3rd week: Thursday February 20th 2020 at 10.45am – 12.45pm \nAt 6 months: Thursday September 10th 2020 at 10.45am – 12.45pm \n  \nYou are asked to attend all four sessions to get maximum benefit from the course.
