SUMMARY:ENNIS – Type 2 & Pre-diabetes Education Course (CODE)
DESCRIPTION:CODE is Diabetes Ireland’s  group education programme for people with Type 2 Diabetes or diagnosed Pre-diabetes.  CODE aims to deliver general information about diabetes self-management in a local community group setting. CODE allows people with diabetes to talk in a supportive atmosphere about their own diabetes. Time is allocated during the programme for problem solving\, feedback on diabetes self management behaviours and goal setting. \nThe programme is facilitated by Diabetes Ireland\, Regional Development Officer and Dietitian\, Ms. Pauline Dunne and consists of 4 sessions of 2 hour duration.  The first 3 sessions take place over 3 consecutive weeks \nThis event is now fully booked  \nFinal Review Meeting \nThis review session takes place six months after the start date. \nCODE is free of charge. \nTopics covered in CODE include diabetes explained\, risk factors\, signs and symptoms\, healthy eating\, physical activity\, personal goal setting\, complications and the necessity of regular follow up and the importance of optimal diabetes control. The six month session looks at the review of achievements and personal goal setting. DESCRIPTION:Diabetes Themed Table Quiz – Test Your Diabetes Knowledge! \n  \nThe Clare Diabetes Support group is organising a Diabetes Themed Table Quiz to mark World Diabetes Day on Tuesday\, November 20th in The Temple Gate Hotel\, Ennis\, Co. Clare at 8pm. This event is also a fundraiser for Diabetes Ireland who depend on public fundraising for approx 65% of their funding (including supporting our meetings and the Clare branch). We would appreciate if everyone could donate €5.00 on the night. \n  \nThis event is open to anyone who wants to learn more about diabetes and is an excellent opportunity to meet others living with it. If you would like more information about our support group call Grainne at 087 654 8320 or email clarebranchdfi@gmail.com.
