SUMMARY:CO CLARE - Diabetes Education Type 2
DESCRIPTION:  \nStructured education course for Pre-diabetes & Type 2 \nCODE is Diabetes Ireland’s group education programme for people with Type 2 Diabetes or diagnosed Pre-diabetes.  CODE aims to deliver general information about diabetes self-management in a local community group setting. CODE allows people with diabetes to talk in a supportive atmosphere about their own diabetes. Time is allocated during the programme for problem solving\, feedback on diabetes self management behaviours and goal setting. \nThe programme is facilitated by Ms Mary Nolan\, Diabetes Nurse Specialist and consists of 4 sessions of 2 hour duration.  The first 3 sessions take place over 3 consecutive weeks in Kilrush Health Centre\, Kilkee Road\, Kilrush\, Co Clare. \n  \nThis is now full \n2nd week:      Tuesday 17th October @ 10.30 am \n3rd week:       Tuesday 24th October @ 10.30 am \nAt 4 months:    TBC \nCODE is free of charge. \nTopics covered in CODE include diabetes explained\, risk factors\, signs and symptoms\, healthy eating\, physical activity\, personal goal setting\, complications and the necessity of regular follow up and the importance of optimal diabetes control. The six month session looks at the review of achievements and personal goal setting. DESCRIPTION:​The Clare Type 1 Diabetes Support Group will have their next meeting on Tuesday\, October 17th\,​ in ​The Temple Gate Hotel\, ​Ennis\, Co. Clare at 8pm. These meetings are free to attend and open to anyone who wants to learn more about Type 1 Diabetes or uses insulin.
