SUMMARY:Newbridge: School Diabetes Awareness Day
DESCRIPTION:A Diabetes Ireland School Awareness Day will take place in St Conleth’s Infant School\, Newbridge\, Co.Kildare on the 4th of February. \nVicky Doyle\, Health Promotion Officer with Diabetes Ireland\, will be completing a series of school visits in the Leinster area in 2016 as part of our new Schools Diabetes Awareness Programme. Vicky\, who herself was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 11 years old\, will talk to students and create awareness around type 1 and type 2 diabetes across the Leinster region. Students and teachers will also learn the differences between type 1 and type 2 diabetes\, how to handle emergency situations for students with type 1 and receive advice on healthy diet and exercise to help prevent Type 2 diabetes. \nIf your school would like to take part in the Schools Diabetes Awareness Programme\, please call Vicky on 01 842 8118 or email vicky.doyle@diabetes.ie \n*Please note these events are not open to the general public.
