DESCRIPTION:Please note\, these events are only open to the staff of the organisation hosting the training the session.   \nDid you know? \n\n61% of people living with Intellectual Disabilities are at risk of Pre-Diabetes or Type 2 diabetes\n16% of people with Intellectual Disabilities aged over 40 are already living with Type 2 diabetes\n\nWith this in mind Diabetes Ireland have developed a programme to provide training to the carers of those living with Intellectual Disabilities. Our healthcare professionals\, Sinead Hanley and Pauline Dunne\, will be visiting organisations across the country  to deliver a practical interactive awareness session to carers of people with Intellectual Disability. These training sessions aim to provide carers with the skills to help prevent Type 2 diabetes and manage those already living with the condition. \nIf you are interested in hosting a session please contact Diabetes Ireland on 01 842 8118.
