Volunteer of the Year Award 2013
Now in its 13th year

It’s that time of the year again! Following on from the success of last year’s prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award, Diabetes Ireland is now seeking nominations for 2013.

The aim of the award is to recognise and reward the tireless efforts of volunteers, throughout Ireland who do so much to support and generate awareness for diabetes and those living with the condition. Every day volunteers can be seen supporting, educating, promoting and motivating people with diabetes at a local and national level. Now is the time to thank them.

Past nominees and winners have included Diabetes Nurse Specialists and GPs who do above and beyond their remit in supporting people with diabetes, lay volunteers who work at a local level, with children with diabetes and volunteers who raise awareness of diabetes in their communities.

By submitting a brief outline (300 words) on why you think a person should be our Volunteer of the year, you will allow us to acknowledge that person for their commitment to diabetes.

Each nominee will go forward for the achievement award where a judging panel will select an overall outstanding winner. The winner will be announced and presented with a trophy at the Annual General Meeting on Sunday 11th November 2012. The winner will receive a weekend away for 2 people and €1,000, which is to be donated to a diabetes related project of the winner’s choice. There will also be a prize for the nominator.
