“The Diabetes Federation of Ireland will consider association with products that are recognised as beneficial in improving the quality of life for people affected by diabetes. All companies seeking association for their product must supply full technical and other details for review by representatives of the Diabetes Federation of Ireland”.

The Diabetes Federation of Ireland will base any decision to associate with a company on the data provided and within the context that the product is deemed to be:

• Appropriately labelled and marketed
• More beneficial to the general health and wellbeing of people with diabetes than similar products.
• Consideration of the benefits will be weighted against costs of the product.

In order to make a fair unbiased decision, the product will be reviewed by 3 independent specialists in the product area selected by the Professional Services Committee – the cost of which to be paid by the company seeking association. The reviews will be presented to the Professional Services Committee from which they will base their decision.

Should a decision in favour of association with any company be made,  all legal costs of preparing and drawing up legal agreements must be met by the producer seeking association.
