Diabetes Ireland lends support to national Type 2 Diabetes screening day.
RTE’s Operation Transformation together with the Irish Medical Organisation will hold a national diabetes screening day on Thursday January 19th in shopping centres throughout the country. Diabetes Ireland representatives will be at each venue providing information and advice to those who need it on the day.
The Irish Medical Organisation will provide doctors for the National Screening day from 9am– 12 noon. RTE’s Operation Transformation website provides a risk assessment form for those interested in taking part. Having completed the form online, those deemed in the high risk category will be offered a free capillary finger prick test which will be provided by appointment only.
